What this site collects—and what it does not.

Roam Field Guide is designed to work without accounts, profiles or invasive tracking.

Effective date: August 24, 2026

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider may process basic technical records needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp and security events. We do not use those records to build personal traveler profiles.

Privacy-focused analytics

We use Umami Cloud to understand aggregate page traffic and whether an affiliate button was clicked. The analytics script is configured to exclude URL search parameters and hash fragments and to respect your browser's Do Not Track setting.

For an affiliate click, we send only the provider brand, the page path, the button's location on the page and its visible label. We do not send names, email addresses, order or activation codes, or the affiliate link's full URL and referral parameters. We do not enable session replay or form recording.

Umami does not use cookies to identify visitors. Its standard aggregate metrics may process details such as page path, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, language and approximate country. According to Umami, an IP address may be used to calculate anonymous metrics but is not stored.

Email

If you email us, we receive the address and information you choose to send. We use it to respond, investigate corrections or handle the request. Do not send passport details, payment information, eSIM activation codes or other sensitive personal data.

External and affiliate links

Links may take you to providers or other third-party websites with their own privacy practices. Affiliate links contain a referral identifier so a provider can attribute an eligible purchase. These commercial relationships are disclosed near the link and on our affiliate disclosure page. We do not receive your payment-card details or the contents of your provider account.
